A Lifetime of Service to His Community
Mike Gaskill is a lifelong Hoosier who has spent his life working, raising a family and serving the community he calls home. A graduate of Pendleton Heights High School and Anderson University, Mike understands the values that make this part of Indiana special: hard work, strong families, good schools and neighbors looking out for one another.
Mike has owned and operated his insurance and financial-services business since 1993. That experience as a small-business owner has shaped the practical approach he brings to public service — watching the bottom line, solving problems and remembering that every government dollar ultimately comes from a taxpayer.
Before serving in the Indiana Senate, Mike served on the South Madison Community School Board and the Madison County Council. Those roles gave him firsthand experience with the decisions local schools, families and communities face every day.
Mike and his wife, Kelly, have three children and seven grandchildren. For Mike, public service is ultimately about making Indiana an even better place for the next generation to live, work and raise a family.

Lowering Costs & Taxes
Mike knows families notice every increase at the grocery store, the gas pump and in their monthly bills. He believes government should make it easier — not harder — for Hoosiers to keep more of what they earn.
Mike cut taxes, voted to eliminate state taxes on tips and overtime, and continues working to keep Indiana affordable for families, workers and retirees.
Mike also supported historic property-tax relief estimated to save Hoosier homeowners $1.3 billion over three years, with targeted relief for seniors, farmers and small-business owners.

Strong schools are essential to strong communities. Mike believes Indiana's education system should stay focused on helping students learn, supporting teachers and preparing young Hoosiers for what comes next.
Mike delivered record school funding and supported reforms that helped drive five straight years of literacy gains. He believes parents deserve confidence that classrooms are focused on education and that every student has the opportunity to build a successful future.

Protecting Farmland & Property Rights
Mike believes decisions that affect farmland, property rights and the character of our communities should not be dictated by distant interests.
He has worked to protect farmland and private property rights while fighting to ensure local communities have the final say over large-scale development. Mike believes growth should strengthen our communities without pushing aside the farmers, landowners and families who helped build them.
Delivering Results for Our Communities
Mike believes state government should deliver real results people can see in their own communities.
He helped deliver over $8 million for local roads and bridges, secured funding to help keep schools safe and supported efforts to protect opportunities for Hoosier workers.
Mike also voted to crack down on businesses that knowingly hire illegal immigrants, helping protect jobs for Hoosiers and responsible employers who play by the rules.
Whether the issue is roads, schools, public safety or jobs, Mike's focus is straightforward: make government work for the people and communities it serves.
